Drinking Water: Avoid drinking water directly from the tap as it varies widely from area to area and its quality depends on the pipes in the building / hotel where you are located. Bottled water is the safest option or if that's not available it is adviseable to boil tap water before drinking.

Electricity: Hong Kong's voltage is 200/220 volts, 50 cycles. Appliances use a 3 rectangular pin plug. Larger international hotels will adaptors to loan but smaller, budget hotels may not so if possible bring your own international adapter.

Healthy Traveling: Hong Kong is very safe city to visit. Nonethelss if you do get sick or feel ill not to worry Hong Kong 's medical facilities are some of the best in Asia. There any number of well-qualified, English speaking doctors and state of the art equipment. Registered pharmacies are open until 10.00pm and most hotels have their own doctor on 24-hr. call. That said, during the summer months it does get hot and humid so drink pleanty of fluids and if you will be out day in the sun touring, best to get to use sunscreen and don a hat.
